Flashers & Solutions for LED Conversion

In this section there is a complete range of turn signals for motorcycles, light vehicles and heavy vehicles according to the types of circuits, absorption and regulations. Furthermore, over time, simple and reliable solutions have been developed for the conversion from direction circuits with 21W signals to LED signals.

Here are some basic preliminary notions for understanding these applications:

  • The turn signal constantly checks the current that is absorbed by the direction circuit, therefore in the versions with "diagnostics" a decrease in consumption (W) in the circuit is interpreted as a possible failure of a turn signal. This event generates an increase in the flashing frequency of the turn signal, so that the user is informed of the anomaly. This mode of operation consolidated over time - based on the use of 21W bulbs - generates problems and irregular signals when LED turn signals are present in the circuit. The absence of a standard for LED turn signals makes the cases of the absorption levels of the circuits so varied and different that it is often necessary to develop customised LED flashers or the use of universal conversion solutions (ILS booster).
  • The ECE R48 regulation obliges to report any failure in the direction circuit, therefore any addition of resistors to the new LED turn signals is illegal.
  • The new ISO 13207-1 standard standardised the "No-Failure" signal that must be generated by the new LED turn signals.
